About Our Client
Our client is a well-established seafood processing operation located in Northern Tasmania, supplying high-quality seafood products to domestic and international markets. Due to seasonal production demand, we are recruiting 20 reliable and motivated Processing Workers for a 9-month fixed-term assignment commencing in March 2026.
About the Role
These roles are based in a food processing environment and involve hands-on production line work. You will be working as part of a team to meet daily processing targets while maintaining strict hygiene, food safety, and workplace safety standards.
Your Duties Include (but are not limited to):
Processing seafood products along a production line
Trimming, grading, weighing, and packing products
Operating basic processing equipment (training provided)
Maintaining cleanliness of work areas and equipment
Following food safety, hygiene, and biosecurity requirements
Adhering to all WHS procedures and supervisor directions
To Be Successful, You Will Need:
Reliable and consistent attendance
Ability to work in a fast-paced, repetitive environment
Willingness to perform manual handling tasks
Strong attention to detail and quality
Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
Previous food or seafood processing experience (advantage but not essential)
Driver’s licence preferred due to limited public transport

Ability to pass a pre-employment medical, including urine drug & alcohol screening

3.3.6 – HOURS OF WORK, PAY & CONDITIONS
Hours of Work
Fixed-term employment for 9 months
Monday to Friday roster (some weekend work may be required during peak periods)
Weekly Hours: 38 hours per week
Start Time: To be advised (day shift)
Shift Duration: Approx. 7.6 hours per day, including a 30-minute unpaid meal break
Additional Hours: Overtime may be required during peak production periods and will be paid in accordance with the applicable Award
Example Weekly Structure (38 hours):
Monday: 7.6 hours
Tuesday: 7.6 hours
Wednesday: 7.6 hours
Thursday: 7.6 hours
Friday: 7.6 hours
Total: 38 hours
Pay & Conditions
Employees will be paid in accordance with the Seafood Processing Award 2020 (MA000074) or the applicable classification based on duties performed.
Entitlements include:
Base hourly rate plus applicable loadings
Overtime and penalty rates where applicable
Superannuation contributions
Weekly payslips and compliant timekeeping
No unlawful deductions
Work Environment
This role is based in a seafood processing facility and may involve:
Cold and wet conditions
Standing for extended periods
Repetitive production line work
Manual handling tasks
Exposure to food processing equipment
Full induction and food safety training will be provided prior to commencement.
