- About the role
- We are seeking a qualified and compassionate School Counsellor to join our staff team and support the wellbeing of our students.
Key responsibilities
- Provide counselling and support to students across all year levels.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and leadership to support student wellbeing.
- Implement and oversee proactive wellbeing and mental health programs.
- Offer professional input into pastoral care initiatives consistent with Christian values.
- Maintain appropriate records and confidentiality in line with professional and school policies.
- This part time (1 day per week) role is due to start as soon as is practicable.
- Relevant qualifications and/or experience in counselling
- Demonstrated experience in counselling children and young people.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with students, staff, and parents.
- A commitment to the ethos and values of Christian education and a willingness to contribute to the spiritual life of the school.
- Experience in a school setting (desirable).
- Knowledge of child protection legislation and mandatory reporting requirements.
- Ability to design and deliver group programs addressing social and emotional wellbeing.
- Be a practising Christian, actively involved in their local church.
- Model a Christ-centred approach in both professional and personal life.
- Demonstrate a heart for young people and their holistic development.
