About
We are seeking a Strategic EA Platform Architect to provide leadership in designing, implementing, and governing enterprise architecture solutions. This critical role ensures the alignment of technology capabilities with strategic business goals, drives portfolio simplification efforts, and enables large-scale transformation initiatives across the enterprise.
The Architect will serve as the expert for our dedicated Enterprise Architecture Management (EAM) platform, leading technical and strategic discussions with executive stakeholders to ensure data integrity, platform governance, and effective usage of the architecture repository.
Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Architecture & Governance Leadership
- EAM Design: Lead the design, documentation, and maintenance of comprehensive enterprise architecture views utilising the EAM platform’s data structures (Fact Sheets, lifecycle attributes, interface, and dependency mappings).
- Framework Alignment: Align platform configurations and architecture outputs with established frameworks, such as the TOGAF Architecture Development Method (ADM) phases, encompassing Vision, Business/Data/Technology Architecture, and Migration Planning.
- Compliance & Review: Facilitate architecture governance processes and compliance reviews with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure adherence to organisational and regulatory standards.
Platform Engineering & Integration
- Architecture Integration's: Architect and implement complex integration's between the EAM platform and critical enterprise systems, including identity providers (e.g., Azure AD), Configuration Management Databases (CMDBs), monitoring solutions, and cloud landing zone environments.
- Security & Access Control: Configure robust role-based access controls (RBAC), enforce security standards (Single Sign-On, Multi-Factor Authentication, session management), and maintain platform security best practices.
- Metadata Management: Support the development of metadata management strategies and facilitate automated application discovery for systems managed by various business units.
Portfolio Optimisation & Analysis
- Application Rationalisation: Lead detailed inventory analysis and dependency mapping across a large, complex application portfolio (e.g., 700+ systems).
- Simplification: Proactively identify opportunities for application simplification, system consolidation, and cost optimisation, translating analysis into clear, actionable recommendations.
- Enablement: Drive strategic workshops and lead onboarding sessions for international users and distributed architecture teams to promote platform consistency and adoption.
Enablement & Reporting
- Training & Adoption: Develop and maintain comprehensive training materials, onboarding resources, and user guides to support global platform adoption and user proficiency.
- Artefact Management: Maintain architecture artefacts, ensure reporting accuracy, and design insightful dashboards for executive visibility and data-driven decision-making.
- EAM Tool Expertise: Proven, hands-on experience in configuring, managing, and utilising a leading Enterprise Architecture Management (EAM) platform (e.g., Alfabet, Ardoq, Mega) is essential.
- Architecture Frameworks: Strong understanding and practical application experience of TOGAF, application lifecycle management, enterprise metadata management, and common integration patterns.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Excellent communication, influencing, and collaboration skills, with a demonstrated ability to engage effectively across technical teams, business stakeholders, and senior leadership.
- Certification at the Admin or Practitioner level for a major EAM platform.
- Relevant national security or government clearance.
