Job Description:
Salary: $ $75,000

Qualifications & Experience:

AQF Diploma, or higher qualification, and at least three years relevant experience; or at least five years relevant experience

The Retail Manager will oversee the daily operations of our store. They will be the one to ensure the smooth running of operations to maximise sales and minimise costs.
The goal is to manage the store in ways that motivate personnel to perform according to their maximum capacity. The goal is to manage the store in ways that boost revenues and develop the business.

Main tasks and duties:
• Organise all store operations and allocate responsibilities to personnel
• Supervising and guiding staff towards maximum performance
• Prepare and control the stores budget aiming for minimum expenditure and efficiency
• Monitor stock levels and purchases and ensure they stay within budget
• Deal with complaints from customers to maintain the store’s reputation
• Inspect the areas in the store and resolve any issues that might arise
• Plan and oversee in-store promotional events or display
• Keep abreast of market trends to determine the need for improvements in the store
• Analyse sales and revenue reports and make forecasts
• Ensure the store fulfils all legal health and safety guidelines
• Identifies the changing needs of our customers, employees and systems, and seeks to develop genuinely innovative solutions
• Identifies trends and opportunities in the local market to develop market plans to meet these
• Represents the organisation at official occasions, in negotiations, at conventions, seminars, public hearings and forums, and liaising with areas of responsibility to the McDonalds brand
• Leads successful implementation of new operating platforms and business initiatives to deliver on the brand promise
• Verifies that food safety daily/monthly checklists are completed to 100%
• Must maintain records of stock levels and financial transactions of all stock and products
• Works with Product Quality manager to verify accuracy of food and paper inventory as well as order accuracy to ensure control of food and paper items on the profit and loss reports
• Maintains an empowering and coaching mindset when monitoring progress on targets and goals
• Follows up on the maintenance of restaurant building, plant and equipment to ensure any opportunities are budgeted and actioned accordingly
• Prepares budgets for the Restaurants Profit and Loss reports
• Achieves restaurant profit and growth through the ongoing monitoring of budgets; developing strategies/plans and effectively and appropriately responding to trends
• Verifies the efficiency of restaurant scheduling to optimise sales and profitability
• Creates and builds a restaurant business plan to grow sales through increased guest counts and average cheque spend
• Formulates budgets for the restaurant’s local store marketing plans
• Utilises restaurant metrics and reporting data to ensure targets are clearly identified, communicated, and achieved
• Formulates, administers, and reviews policy and legislation to ensure organisational and departmental objectives are met
• Formulates and implements purchasing and marketing policies, and sets product processes to meet the overall objectives of the restaurants business plan
• Ensures staff work in a safe manner by adhering to McDonald’s safety and security policies and procedures
• Embraces and promotes the McDonald's Open Door Policy
• Ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety regulations
• Ensures adherence of all legislative people minimums
• Sets the overall direction and objectives of the restaurant and its departments
• Builds strong community relationships and works with Customer Experience Manager to identify ways to connect with the wider community and build on the McDonalds brand
• Coaches on correct food safety procedures
• Effectively diffuses negative situations to guide a positive resolution during customer recovery
• Supports the Shift Manager by utilizing coaching conversations and travel paths to recognise outstanding QSC&V and stretch their sense of what they can do next
• Coaches on McDonald's Policies and Procedures
• Demonstrates strong two-way communication skills and the ability to express complex ideas in a clear, concise and timely manner
• Resolves team conflict directly and constructively, focusing on issues and facts rather than people
• Monitoring and evaluating overall organisational and departmental performance, and adjusting policies, rules and regulations to ensure the restaurant objectives are met
• Controls selection, training and supervision of staff recruitment
• Works with Customer Experience Manager to review all customer feedback, identify trends and initiate plans of action to improve customer engagement and loyalty
• Drives a customer-obsessed mindset and engages the team to deliver exceptional customer experience

Requirements
• Experience as a Retail Manager or in other managerial positions
• Knowledge of retail management best practices
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
• Excellent organising and leadership skills
• Commercial awareness
• Analytical mind and familiarity with data analysis principles
• Excellent knowledge of retail management software
