Placed.au is looking for a full-time Retail Buyer for our client in Glen Huntly, Victoria. Job description:
-Work together with store managers and sales associates to understand which products are in higher demand.
-Ensue sales data and stock levels are regularly monitored to replenish accordingly.
-Adjust and create product pricing according to demand.
-Creating and processing inventory reports
-Analyze stock levels and order replenishment accordingly. Use projections if necessary.
-Attempt to anticipate changes in customer demands, including increased sale of products due to season or holiday.
-Try to minimize wastage by understanding expiry dates for all products and ensuring stock levels are not excessive.
-Adequately remove stock which has expired or spoiled, ordering fresh stock if necessary.
-Inspect and compare all stock, ensuring quality is high and no damage or fault is present.
-If stock arrives faulty, ensure adequate protocols are followed to replace with correct stock.
-Maintain a good relationship with stockists and suppliers.
-Maintain store licensing and legal information updated.
-Communicate frequently with store management to discuss planning, budgeting, sales promotions and advertising campaigns
-Attend trade fairs and other displays interstate and overseas to obtain information about the range of products available.
-Ensure stock is neatly and coherently organized in stores to maximize space usage.
Qualifications/Attributes:
-Must hold a Certificate III in relevant field, or at least 3 years of relevant work experience in lieu of the qualification
-Must possess at least a year of relevant work experience.
-Proven experience as a retail buyer, purchasing officer, or similar role.
-Strong analytical skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to manage supplier and internal stakeholder relationships.
-Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to manage multiple product lines.
Salary Range: $75,000 - $90,000 p.a. excluding superannuation.
