Your Position at St John of God Bendigo Hospital We are currently seeking applications from suitably qualified, Registered Nurses to join our highly skilled and multi-disciplinary Surgical Ward. Our ward is a 35 bed acute surgical ward and cares for patients from a variety of surgical specialities including Orthopaedic, urology, plastics, ENT, general surgery, colorectal, gynaecological and thoracics. We are looking for a dynamic and flexible nurse, with recent acute surgical experience, a proactive attitude and the ability to provide high–level patient care, if this is you then we want to hear from you! Hours will be negotiated with successful candidate(s). The position Provide patient-centred care to achieve identified outcomes in accordance with established hospital policies and procedures. Ability to assess, identify, escalate deteriorating patients as per our hospital policy Communicate effectively with all patients, colleagues including VMOs using appropriate channels, utilising formal and informal methods of communication. Participate as a valued team member promoting and contributing to a supportive team environment. Participates in and contributes to quality improvement and risk management in all aspects of the service Ensuring all nursing procedures are carried out in a safe manner. Ensuring that the quality of work performed is of a high standard Ensuring that new and junior staff are assisted with ward routines. You will have a registration with Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse, a demonstrated commitment to quality patient care and satisfaction, along with well developed interpersonal and relationship building skills, and clinical knowledge and skills relevant to the Surgical ward. To succeed you will have an ability to work effectively and harmoniously within the multi-disciplinary health care team, with a commitment to ongoing education and professional development. The Benefits: Salary: $81,995 to $103,482 per annum (pro rata for part time), plus 12% superannuation Salary: $51.70 to $65.25 per hours (casual loading included), plus 12% superannuation. Permanent full-time time/part time/Casual position available.
