About the opportunity Mercy Place Montrose is a modern state of the art facility providing accommodation for 122 residents. As one of our ND nurses, you will be supported by additional nursing and care staff in charge and personal care staff on each shift. Experience in aged care is preferred but not essential. Mercy Place Montrose has been designed to ensure that residents are accommodated in small apartment style units with a maximum of 8 residents in each unit. The Registered Nurse Division 1 (RN) practices as per the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) policy and guidelines regarding nursing scope of practice. The RN is a member of the multidisciplinary team who work closely with Residents and their families or representatives to develop and provide care as per the residents individualized care plan. They are expected to be role models, complete day to day tasks and report any issues and adverse advents to the RN in charge and/or the Clinical Care Co-ordinator. They will work closely with staff and assist them in undertaking resident assessments, treatment and documentation. They will have a number of year's experience in aged care settings and have the ability to work independently. The RN will have an important role in providing leadership to staff and be expected to lead in the provision of safe and effective care, in keeping with each resident’s preferences and the policies and procedures of Mercy Health. Previous experience in aged care in a similar role is preferred. You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining: An NDIS Worker Screening Check OR evidence of application AND a current Police Record Check.
