We are looking for experienced Rates Officers to join our government clients team based south of the river.
The client is flexible in regards to the duration of the contract. They are looking for support both now and in the long term for their team. Hence, there is a high potential for this to lead to a permanent offer.

Temp Hourly Rate: $51 - $55 p/h plus super

- Excellent analytic skills and a high level of accuracy.
- Good communication skills.
- Experience as a rates officer (desired not essential)
- Government (Financial Management) regulations experience (desired not essential)
Duties:
- Participate in the review and enhancement of existing property and rating procedures and processes.
- Assist with the recovery of all outstanding property rates.
- Assist and respond to telephone and written enquiries within a timely manner.
- Process change of ownership and addresses accurately and ensure follow ups conducted after settlement to finalise the rates accounts.
- Process pensioner rebate applications and claims. Action any rejections and reclaim or adjust rates accounts as required.
- Ensure reconciliations are completed and balance to the GL for each claim.
- Providing reconciliations to Senior Rates Officers for approval.
- Ensure the accuracy of owner occupier records for elections.
- Ensure the accurate preparation of reports and actioning of those reports
- Ensure the accurate and timely reporting, reconciliation and administration of deferred rates.
- Deferred rates, claims and reconciliations. Prepare claims and reconciliation for audit purposes and to claim at Revenue WA.
- Process Pensioner/Senior rebate applications.
- Issue reminder letters for Pensioner/Seniors as required.
- eNotices – download and action reports and bounced back reports.
- Check assessments with credit balances and action.
- Action returned to sender notices and keep register to ensure confirmation of new addresses are received and updated in the rating system.
- Completion of allocated project work within agreed time frames.
- Ensure compliance with any relevant legislation.
- Other duties as required.
