Acciona Agua is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Project Manager – SMP (Structural, Mechanical & Piping) to join our team on the Eyre Peninsula Desalination Project. This is a key leadership role responsible for managing the end-to-end delivery of SMP works across the plant and MIPs (Mechanical, Instrumentation, Piping). You will oversee construction methodologies, project schedules, and contractor coordination, and ensure the highest standards of safety, quality, and performance. Relocation Opportunity – Eyre Peninsula Desalination Project ACCIONA is currently recruiting for roles associated with the Eyre Peninsula Desalination Project. We are seeking candidates who are open to the following relocation options: Based in Adelaide, with Fly-In Fly-Out (FIFO) arrangements to the project site in Port Lincoln as required, or Relocate directly to Port Lincoln for the duration of the project. ACCIONA will provide full relocation support and assist with all necessary arrangements to ensure a smooth transition for successful candidates. Responsibilities 1. Project Planning & Methodology Develop and implement comprehensive construction methodologies for SMP works. Ensure engineering designs are constructible, cost-effective, and aligned with project objectives. Identify and mitigate design and construction risks early in the project lifecycle. Lead quantity tracking and forecasting to maintain budget accuracy. Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and collaboration across teams. 2. Project Scheduling & Delivery Manage detailed project schedules, milestones, and critical path activities. Ensure alignment of SMP works with overall project timelines and contractual obligations. Monitor progress, manage delays, and lead resolution of issues to maintain momentum. Oversee EOT (Extension of Time) claims and ensure compliance with contract requirements. Drive stakeholder engagement and maintain transparent communication throughout the project. 3. Construction Management Lead the execution of SMP construction activities on site, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity. Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to deliver works on time and within budget. Implement robust risk management frameworks and governance systems. Resolve industrial relations issues in collaboration with HR and site leadership. Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with WHS standards. 4. Digital Engineering & Innovation Champion the use of digital tools for construction tracking, documentation, and collaboration. Support the integration of Digital Engineering (DE) practices across SMP works. Leverage technology to improve efficiency, accuracy, and project transparency. Required Skills and Competencies Qualifications & Requirements Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related discipline. Construction Induction Training (White Card) obtained via face-to-face training (not online). Current Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle. Minimum 10 years’ experience in the construction industry, including: At least 10 years in leadership roles. Proven experience in project engineering for complex, high-volume projects. Expert knowledge of engineering project management principles and a deep understanding of site management and SMP delivery. Why Join Us?
