  • The role of Project Manager - Equity of Access, is an 18-month fixed term role to lead the implementation of a large scale corporate project.
  • A key pillar of AFCA’s 3 year strategy is Equity of Access. We want to ensure fairness and equity across all of AFCA’s services, so that every Australian can access the support they need. This program will involve a large scale cultural change program as we shift our attention to supporting our people to meet the diverse needs of the community we serve along with changing our processes and technology to ensure any barriers to access are removed.
  • This is a unique opportunity in AFCA, suiting a Project Manager with experience in business transformation initiatives at an organisational wide level.

Typically, in this role you will

  • Partner with the relevant internal stakeholders to plan, define and implement project scope, objectives, timelines and deliverables in line with AFCA project management framework.
  • Establish ongoing governance arrangements and structure including formal reporting arrangements on project progress.
  • Develop project plan, costing, resource plans and relevant project documentation
  • Undertake quality assurance activities.
  • Be accountable for the management and delivery of key project milestones across the project team, ensuring alignment with agreed scope and outcomes.
  • Determine and manage project risk analysis and review risk mitigation plans regularly.
  • Be accountable for the management of the project budget, ensuring appropriate tracking and financial allocation.
  • Project reporting / tracking (progress / financial)
  • Develop and maintain robust reporting to relevant internal and external stakeholders, ensuring current status and risks / issues are clearly defined and articulated.
  • Qualifications

About You: To thrive in this role, you should have

  • Project Management Expertise: Proven experience delivering complex projects or business improvement initiatives, ideally in the financial services or government sectors.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to align project delivery with broader organisational goals and quality standards.
  • Financial Management Experience: Specifically benefit management/realisation and tracking, business case development, budgeting and forecasting
  • Change Leadership: Experience supporting transformation and embedding new frameworks or technologies.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence and engage across all levels.
  • Technical Proficiency: Comfortable with project tools and systems, and confident in managing reporting, documentation, and quality assurance processes.
