As a Program Support Worker, you will be more than a support person—you will be a lifeline. In this dynamic, service-based role, you will be working alongside a passionate team to engage with individuals and families through the Trauma Informed Care Framework, ensuring that no one is turned away, and every person is met with dignity. This is a part time permanent role 30.4 hours per week based in Surry Hills. Salary is in accordance with SCHADS Level3. How You will make an Impact Support people in vulnerable situations with practical tasks and heartfelt presence Connect community members to essential services through warm referrals and trusted networks Build and facilitate inclusive outreach programs, community events, and support pathways Maintain strong communication and accurate documentation to uphold excellence in care Help manage donations, pickups, and deliveries that bring real relief to real people Keep spaces clean, safe, and welcoming—ensuring care is felt in every corner What You will Bring Minimum Cert IV in Community Services (or relevant experience) Understanding of the Trauma Informed Care Framework Experience working with people from diverse cultural, linguistic, and religious backgrounds Strong communication skills, both written and verbal Willingness to obtain Food Handling and Mental Health First Aid certifications if not already held What we offer The Salvos offer eligible employee's a well-balanced package of meaningful benefits including: Salary packaging up to $15,900 tax free + $2,650 meal entertainment benefit.
