• About the role

• The Production Team is expanding in response to increased production quantities and product complexity.
• DroneShield is looking to recruit a Production Technician who will assemble and test DroneShield products.
• This role would work on established products as well as work with the Tech Team on the testing and development of products in various stages of R&D. The candidate will need a wholistic understanding of the technology at hand and experience with electronics and RF is preferred. This role will involve hand soldering and experience in soldering cables and PCBAs is required.
• The position will report primarily to the Manufacturing Team Lead and will work closely with other members of the Production Team, Design Team and the Procurement Team.
• This role will suit someone with excellent attention to detail and a passion for technology who wants to develop their career in a fast moving ASX listed defence technology company.
• Responsibilities, Duties and Expectations
• Assemble DroneShield products and closely follow build documentation
• Test DroneShield products using a variety of test equipment such as VNAs and spectrum analysers
• Fill out travellers and QC records during assembly
• Soldering of PCBA components during production or for R&D
• Assembly of cables
• Assist the Tech Team with anechoic chamber testing
• Qualifications, Experience and Skills
• Experience in electronics assembly
• Experience with RF equipment and testing preferred
• Degree in Engineering or relevant certification as a technician (IPC certified or trained)
• Ability to follow complex assembly and testing instructions
• Passionate about technology
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a fast-paced team
• Respect and appreciation of process, doing the right thing even if no-one is watching
• Strong ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and handle pressure
• Clear communication (both verbal and written) with team members
• “Can do” attitude and willingness to help in variety of tasks, including occasional tasks unrelated to the core role
• Suitable to hold a security clearance if required
