We are looking for an experienced Production Manager (Manufacturing) to lead and optimise end-to-end manufacturing operations, ensuring production targets are met safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. This role suits a hands-on leader with strong operational judgement, capable of balancing output, cost control, and continuous improvement. The successful candidate will work closely with senior management, engineering, and quality teams to drive performance across the production function.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and oversee production strategies, plans, and schedules to meet output, quality, and cost objectives.
Plan and coordinate manufacturing activities, balancing labour, materials, equipment, and time constraints.
Manage day-to-day production operations, ensuring machinery, tooling, and workflows operate efficiently and safely.
Monitor production output, efficiency, and costs, implementing adjustments to optimise performance and minimise waste.
Ensure quality control standards are consistently met through effective procedures, inspections, and corrective actions.
Coordinate preventative maintenance programs and oversee the availability of plant, equipment, and spare parts.
Analyse production methods and processes, driving continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives.
Prepare, maintain, and review production records, reports, and performance metrics for management review.
Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety requirements, promoting a strong safety culture on the shop floor.
Lead, supervise, and develop production staff, setting clear expectations and monitoring performance.
Collaborate with other managers and departments to align production outcomes with business objectives.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Relevant qualification in manufacturing, engineering, operations management, or a related field.
Proven experience in a production or manufacturing management role within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
Strong understanding of production planning, quality systems, and cost control methodologies.
Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage performance, and drive operational improvements.
Sound knowledge of workplace health and safety regulations and manufacturing compliance standards.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Effective communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
Proficiency in production reporting systems and standard manufacturing software tools.
Preferred Qualifications
Degree or diploma in engineering, manufacturing, or operations management.
Experience with lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, or Six Sigma methodologies.
Exposure to automation, process optimisation, or advanced manufacturing technologies.
Prior experience managing medium to large production teams in a fast-paced environment.
