Lazzara Grapes is a significant table grape grower with sites in VIC and QLD. The business supplies produce to the national supermarkets as well as for export. J&F Lazzara & Sons Pty Ltd is seeking a full time qualified Production Horticulturalist.

Salary offered is $76,515pa plus super.
Job duties and responsibilities include:
• Ensure that all land preparations are done as per established procedures suitable for the cultivation of table grapes.
• Train and monitor operators where required to ensure tasks are done as per standard procedures.
• Prepare working programs daily, weekly and monthly to facilitate implementation of respective tasks.
• Assess quality of work and take corrective actions where applicable.
• Ensure that all material inputs are adequate for respective operations.
• Ensure the upkeep of all tractors and implements.
• Liaise with Farm Manager where required.
• Operate various tractors and implements.
• Identify and report unusual disease or plant pest signs.
• Operate pressurised irrigation systems.
• Prepare and apply chemicals to control pest, weeds and diseases.
• Coordinate the harvesting of table grapes.
• Fumigate soil.
• Manage, install drainage systems.
• Operate spreading and seeding equipment.

The applicant will have the following skills and experience:

• AQF Certificate III or IV qualification or equivalent in horticulture, agriculture or in a related field.
• 3 years employment experience with relevant formal training or 5 years employment experience with no formal training.
• Knowledge and experience in crop health, production procedure and pest control.
• Knowledge and experience in agricultural production principles.
• Computing and administration skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
