About

This is not a design role for pixel pushers.

This is a call for a product-obsessed builder who's ready to pour themselves into something that matters.

We're looking for someone who thinks in flows, dreams in wireframes, and sweats the tiny UX details that turn good into unforgettable.

If you're tired of shipping safe, pretty things that don't move the needle — come here. We need someone bold enough to rethink the entire experience, and relentless enough to make it real.

The Mission

We're CitizenShipper — a profitable, remote-first, US-based two-sided marketplace transforming how people transport the things they love most. Our beachhead? Pet transportation.

That means dogs, cats, rescues, rehomes, and cross-country moves — emotionally charged, high-stakes, logistically complex.

We connect pet owners with trusted drivers. We reduce stress. We solve chaos. And we're just scratching the surface of a massive, underserved market.

Now, we're growing fast, and the product needs a designer with vision, taste, and founder energy. Someone to take the complexity of our business and shape it into a simple, beautiful, intuitive experience people remember.

The Role

We're hiring a Product Designer to own the end-to-end user experience — from high-conviction concepts to dev-ready designs to the shipped reality.

You'll design for both sides of our marketplace — pet owners and drivers — plus internal tooling, onboarding flows, pricing UI, map views, dashboards, and anything else needed to make magic happen.

This is a full-stack design role with a blank canvas, a real team, and no layers of fluff between you and the outcome. You'll collaborate directly with product, engineering, and the CEO. You'll ship fast, obsess hard, and iterate like crazy.

What You'll Do

  • Own and drive the entire product design process, from idea to prototype to handoff
  • Translate customer pain points into experiences that feel like magic
  • Design flows that reduce friction, increase trust, and drive conversions
  • Build scalable, flexible systems (and tear them down when needed)
  • Collaborate with engineers and product leads to ship real stuff fast
  • Use data and intuition to refine and evolve your work, always improving
  • Turn user problems into elegant, delightful interfaces that actually work

You won't be told what to design. You'll tell us what needs to exist — and why.

Who You Are

This role is not for decorators. It's for designers with founder DNA. You:

  • Have 3–7 years of hands-on product design experience at startups or in founder-style roles
  • Have shipped real features with real metrics in production — not just concept decks
  • Think in flows, not screens — you design systems, not just pages
  • Are deeply collaborative, low ego, and high output
  • Have strong opinions, weakly held — you want feedback, not permission
  • Care as much about usability and performance as you do aesthetics
  • Are comfortable working 60–80 hour weeks on something you believe in
  • Live for the craft. You get high on improving the experience.

Bonus: You've worked in marketplaces, consumer UX, logistics, or trust-centric environments. You've designed for scale — and for humans under stress.

Compensation

Top-of-market salary. Ownership over product and experience.

We're not hiring a “design resource.” We're bringing in a co-architect of the future.

The Dare

If this post gave you butterflies — if you've been waiting to throw yourself into a product this messy, this emotional, this real — we want to see what you've got.

Don't send a safe PDF portfolio. Show us how you think. What you've built. How you'd approach our UX? Show us something that proves you're the one.

This isn't a job. It's a mission.

Ready to design something unforgettable?
