About the Opportunity

This short-term opportunity will see you join a dedicated People and Culture team as a trusted ER/IR specialist, providing expert support to business units during a period of increased complexity and demand. You will work closely with leaders and managers to navigate sensitive employee relations matters, guide organisational responses, and ensure compliance with legislative and departmental obligations.

This role offers a chance to apply your expertise in a dynamic environment, working directly with operational teams to resolve issues, strengthen capability, and support positive workplace outcomes.

Your Contribution

In this role, you will be responsible for:

• Providing authoritative advice on a broad range of ER/IR matters, including conduct, performance, workplace disputes, and investigations.
• Managing complex cases end-to-end, ensuring timely, compliant, and fair outcomes.
• Preparing high-quality documentation, submissions, and briefs to support decision-making.
• Advising on the application and interpretation of industrial instruments, legislation, and directives.
• Supporting and coaching leaders to manage people matters confidently and proactively.
• Building trusted relationships with managers to ensure early intervention in workplace issues.

What We Are Looking For

We focus on your strengths by assessing a combination of your competencies, knowledge-based skills, and behaviours. Specifically, we are looking for:

• Subject Matter Expertise: Demonstrated experience with employment and industrial relations legislation and policies within a complex environment, preferably the public sector.
• Case Management: Proven experience managing complex ER/IR matters autonomously, including discipline and under performance.
• Communication: Strong written skills with the ability to prepare briefs and correspondence for diverse stakeholders.
• Interpersonal Skills: Highly developed relationship-building skills with the ability to influence and maintain confidence in sensitive matters.
• Mentorship: Ability to mentor others and foster a psychologically safe environment.
