An additional workstream focused on empowering families and communities to attain Economic Dignity is in development. The Communities Focus Area will be strengthening its place-based, First Nations and partnerships engagement approach to these issues.

- About the Opportunity
- We are seeking a Principal, Economic Dignity to join our Communities Division, leading initiatives that tackle complex social challenges including homelessness, food insecurity, and unemployment. With a strong focus on families and young children, working closely with partners, stakeholders and beneficiaries, this role will be instrumental in advancing opportunities for meaningful participation in society, and reducing the harmful impacts of poverty on health and wellbeing.
Reporting to the Director, Economic Dignity & Family Supports, you will
- Stay across emerging research, trends, and best practices in the field.
- Analyse policies, programs, and interventions to identify gaps and opportunities.
- Provide strategic advice to shape the Foundation’s Economic Dignity grant-making strategy.
- Collaborate across teams to design and deliver innovative solutions.
- Build and strengthen partnerships with community organisations, policymakers, and advocates.
- Develop thought leadership content, such as reports and briefs, to amplify impact.
- Monitor and evaluate initiatives, recommending adjustments where needed.
- Contribute to broader strategies across the Communities Focus Area.
- Qualifications
- About You
You are driven by a commitment to addressing entrenched social issues and creating meaningful impact. You will bring
- A relevant university degree and at least 5 years’ experience in the Economic Dignity field, or equivalent expertise.
Subject matter knowledge in one or more of the following
- Housing and homelessness
- Food insecurity in family and community contexts
- Employment pathways for parents with young children
- Experience working with First Nations people and communities, including fostering partnerships built on trust and respect.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to navigate complex social issues and co-design practical, solution-focused responses.
