The Opportunity
We have an opportunity for a Principal Cyber Security Auditor to be part of our Corporate Services Division within the Department of Primary Industries and Regions.
The primary purpose of the role is to conduct cyber security audits to enable an independent strategic assessment of cyber security risk within PIRSA to ensure we are managing and compliant with cyber security legislation, policy, and processes.
The Principal Cyber Security Auditor will provide independent assurance over the identification, assessment, monitoring and management of PIRSA’s cyber security risks and incidents and deliver on PIRSA’s annual cyber assurance audit plan.
The role contributes to delivering the agency’s priorities including Priority 6 “Perform Well”, specifically “ensuring good governance practices are in place” (6.4).

Special Conditions
- Successful applicant will be required to satisfactorily complete a National Police Check (NPC) prior to being made an offer of employment.
- Opportunity up to October 2026.
- Full time opportunity, 37.5 hours per week.
Requirements
- Possession of a current driver’s license and willingness to drive.
- Out of hours work and inter / intrastate travel may be required.
- Australian residency or current works permit is required (responsibility of applicant to provide evidence of a current work permit).
- You acknowledge your work, health and safety obligations and our expectations when applying for a role.
- The incumbent will be required to undertake emergency management training and must be willing to participate in emergency preparedness, response and recovery activities required by government agencies.
Qualifications
- Essential: Cyber security accreditation.
- Desirable: Appropriate tertiary qualifications in ICT.
- Desirable: Baseline (or higher) National Security Clearance
Remuneration
ASO8 - $121,107 min - $125,679 max per annum, plus superannuation
