Role Summary Chubb Fire & Security is seeking a Portables Technician to service, inspect, and maintain portable fire protection equipment—fire extinguishers, unpumped hose reels, and fire blankets—for our valued customers across the Capricornia region, including out-west travel as required. The successful candidate will uphold Chubb’s standards of safety and customer service while ensuring strict compliance with regulations and licensing. Key Responsibilities Service & Maintenance: Conduct routine servicing, inspection, and maintenance of fire extinguishers, unpumped hose reels, and fire blankets to AS1851, AS2444, and AS/NZS 1221 standards. Inspection & Documentation: Perform compliance inspections, testing and record keeping using company systems. Repairs & Replacement: Undertake minor repairs and replacements to maintain compliance and fully functional equipment. Customer Service: Deliver professional and clear advice to clients regarding their portable fire equipment needs. Compliance & Safety: Adhere to WHS practices, all company procedures, and legal requirements. Regional Travel: Willingness and ability to travel throughout the Capricornia region, including remote and out-west locations. Inventory Management: Maintain appropriate service parts and consumables within the company vehicle. Key Requirements Licensing & Qualifications: Mandatory: QBCC Fire Protection—Portable—Install and Maintain licence. National police check, medical clearance, and Queensland Manual Driver’s Licence. Trade/service certification in fire protection equipment (desirable). Experience: Experience servicing portable fire protection equipment is preferred, but entry-level applicants meeting licencing requirements will be considered. Skills: Good communication and customer service skills; ability to work independently; basic IT skills. Flexibility: Willingness and ability to travel out-west and to remote locations, staying overnight as necessary. Provided Resources Company service vehicle for business use. Uniform and PPE.
