Job Description
Mechanical Engineering Technician conducts tests of mechanical systems, collects and analyses data, and assembles and installs mechanical assemblies in support of Mechanical Engineers and Engineering Technologists. Assist in mechanical engineering research, design, manufacture, construction, operation and maintenance of machines, manufacturing equipment, mechanical installations and facilities.
Tasks
• preparing drawings, plans and designs for mechanical engineering work under the direction of Mechanical Engineers and Engineering Technologists
• assisting Mechanical Engineers and Engineering Technologists in the design of mechanical equipment and plant
• selecting tools and equipment
• assembling and installing new and modified mechanical assemblies, components, machine tools and controls, and hydraulic power systems
• estimating material costs and quantities, and machine requirements
• performing and directing field and laboratory tests
• collecting and analysing data, carrying out complex computations and preparing diagrams
• organising and supervising inspection and maintenance of machines and plant
• ensuring that designs and finished work are within specifications, regulations and contract provisions
The position is full time.
Mechanical Engineering Technician Requirements
• Vast knowledge on various production machines and equipment with a minimum experience of Ten (10) years. Experience in multilayer blown film extrusion is a must. Operating controls to regulate temperature, pressure, speed, and flow of operation, measuring and loading materials, items and ingredients for mixing into machines and feeding mechanisms.
• Can work with minimal supervision. Deliver key performance results consistently. Pro-actively participates in product development and production process enhancement.
• Willing to train candidates with hands on learning on machines and equipment and develop inhouse programs to ensure continuous development of skills and competencies.
• Expose to Quality Management System (QMS), Five S’s (5S), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and other internationality recognize productivity tools.
• Must possess good work habits, leadership skills and a team player, and high ethical standard.

• Share in the responsibility of the overall work site.
• Participate in relevant training development and skills progression of others and for the individual.
• Understand the fundamentals of process control concepts, with particular emphasis on reduction of waste and maximizing output.
Salary Range $53,000 – $70,000 per annum
