We are seeking an Experienced Picture Framer for work in Surry Hills Sydney for an immediate start. AGE IS NO BARRIER.

THE ROLE
3-4 days a week. Must be happy to work occasional (minimum one a month) Saturdays Knowledgeable in all aspects of picture framing and an artistic background is a plus

Consulting with customers : You will work closely with customers to design and create custom frames that complement the artwork and suit the customer's preferences and decor. Help customers choose the right materials, colors, and styles for the frame.
Material Selection: You will work with a variety of framing materials, including wood, metal, acrylic, and composite materials. They must have a good understanding of the properties and characteristics of different materials to recommend the best options for specific artworks.
Assembling: You will measure the artwork precisely and cut the framing materials accordingly. They then assemble the frame, ensuring it fits the artwork securely and accurately.

Matting and Mounting: In some cases, you may add mats (also known as matboards) to provide extra space between the artwork and the glass. Mats not only enhance the presentation but also serve as a protective barrier to prevent the artwork from sticking to the glass.
Quality Control: You will inspect the finished frame to ensure it meets the desired standards of quality and craftsmanship before delivering it to the customer.

Repair and Restoration: You can also offer services for repairing and restoring damaged or old frames.
