About the Position
The Pharmacist role at Better Leaf Brunswick is pivotal in delivering exceptional pharmaceutical services, with a focus on dispensing medicinal cannabis and other prescriptions. This full-time position involves providing expert patient counseling, monitoring treatment outcomes, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and quality standards. As a key member of the team, the Pharmacist will contribute to the pharmacy’s mission of guiding patients toward optimal wellness through safe and effective medication use.
Key Responsibilities
Dispense prescribed pharmaceuticals, including medicinal cannabis, ensuring correct dosage, administration methods, and drug compatibility.
Provide patient education on health promotion, disease prevention, and proper medicine use, including dosing, administration (e.g., oils, capsules, vaporizers), side effects, and interactions.
Monitor and review patient medicine therapy, collaborating with prescribers to evaluate effectiveness and support optimal treatment outcomes.
Document and report adverse effects or quality issues in line with pharmacovigilance requirements and maintain accurate records per QCPP and internal SOPs, including dispensing logs, patient interactions, and product recall documentation.
Manage inventory through regular stocktakes, monitoring medication levels, and controlling the supply of pharmaceuticals, including non-prescription and cannabis products.
Supervise pharmacy technicians and interns, coordinating tasks to ensure efficient pharmacy operations.
Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in Pharmacy and current AHPRA registration.
Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in a pharmacy setting.
Strong technical skills in dispensing pharmaceuticals, with knowledge of medicinal cannabis therapies and QCPP compliance.
Excellent interpersonal skills, including clear communication, empathy, and the ability to provide patient-centered counseling and collaborate with healthcare professionals.
