You will be a fundamental advocate in relation to safe care for patients, clients and residents that access our service. You will be the key contact for internal key stakeholders and external agencies, such as Safer Care Victoria and other Department of Health entities. The role is also responsible for: Oversite and monitoring of all Serious Adverse Patient Safety Events (SAPSE) within the incident management systems Reporting, leading and facilitating all Sentinel Event reviews in collaboration with Divisions and Site Leadership Facilitation of the development of SMART recommendations to support robust risk mitigation and system and process improvement in accordance with best practice Working collaboratively with the Statutory Duty of Candour unit to facilitate compliance with the legislative instrument Engaging with impacted patients, clients, residents and/or their carers to ensure their complete understanding and representation throughout the review process. To ensure your success in this role you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge (key selection criteria): Must be a current registered Health Practitioner with AHPRA Previous leadership experience in a dynamic and diverse healthcare setting Highly developed written and verbal communication skills with significant experience in report writing Demonstrated knowledge and practice in incident review methodology Well-developed understanding of Safer Care Victoria’s APSE Policy and Sentinel Event Program Demonstrated ability to communicate and engage with senior leadership and executive level key stakeholders Ability to share and model the team’s ethos, commitment to our strategy and positive culture A sound understanding in health literacy and demonstrated understanding of medical/health terminology You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining: A current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check Current COVID-19 certificate, proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccination status consistent with public health orders You’ll also enjoy a range of other benefits: Develop and expand your skills, knowledge and impact across the scope of practice.
