The Pastry Chef will be responsible for the following duties:
· Communicating with all Senior Chefs at commencement & end of each shift
· Stock Management, Par Level & Rotation– communicating ordering needs to Kitchen Manager daily
· Checking of all purchased supplies for quality for each delivered item
· Assist Apprentices, Kitchen Attendants, Cooks, Commis Chefs and all new staff by sharing procedural knowledge
· Section Mise-en-place before & after service
· Maintenance of cleanliness and orderliness of Pastry section & equipment during service
· Food preparation
· Using safe food handling procedures
· Cooking and preparing food to the same high standards on a daily basis so as to maintain the high level Hugos has set with hgh volume turnover
· Maintaining WHS standards (i.e. using the kitchen equipment in a safe and responsible manner)
· Exhibit a safe working knowledge of cleaning and sanitation products
For this position it is expected that you would possess the following qualifications/work experience:
• Relevant Diploma OR 3 years relevant experience in lieu of qualifications
• Minimum 2 years experience in a similar role within a restaurant kitchen
