VeiraMal Consulting is seeking experienced Panel beater to join our client's workshop in Melbourne . Our client offers a great working environment and a competitive salary for the right candidate.
Responsible for:
• Assessing vehicle damage and determining the most cost-effective means to return vehicles to roadworthy condition.
• Replacing the damaged parts or repairing them to a factory standard, using mechanical, hydraulic and metalworking equipment
Key Duties:
• The removal of damaged panels and parts and removing upholstery and accessories to gain access to any damaged panels and or components of a motor vehicle.
• Replacing unrepairable sections of vehicle with new or second-hand panels that have been repaired to a factory finish.
• Fitting repaired or new replacement panels on vehicles and refitting body hardware such as door handles, locks and interior and exterior trims.
• Removing dents by hammering and reworking panels to a factory finish.
• Straightening damaged vehicles and their components to a factory finish using manual, mechanical and hydraulic tooling.
• Filling dents and scrapes with body filler, and filing, grinding and sanding repaired surfaces to a factory finish.
• Cutting and joining replacement sections using welding equipment. This may include the use of mig and tig welding depending on the panel(s) that are damaged and the severity of the damage to the vehicle.
• May spray-paint vehicles or vehicle components when required.
• Assessing vehicle damage, and determining the best possible repair outcome considering, compliance, safety and cost effectiveness.
Performance Appraisal: Three months after the starting date, then half yearly or when required.
Qualification & Requirements:
• Provide Certificate III or above
• Strong understanding of metals, and vehicle body parts
• Creative vision to restore the vehicle to precision quality
• Keep up to date with latest methods and technology, industry standards and vehicle compliance matters
• Have an eye for detail
• Respect for company policies, work ethics and safety standards
• Genuine interest in the trade and automotive
Remuneration: $92,000 to $105,000 + Super for the right candidate.
Position: Full Time.
