Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and qualified fulltime Painter to join our dynamic team. This role involves carrying out painting, surface preparation, and protective coating works on a variety of structures including high-rise buildings using rope access and other height access systems.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare building facades and other exterior surfaces by cleaning, scraping, sanding, filling cracks and holes, and removing old paint.
• Carry out pressure washing, surface preparation, and application of primers, sealers, and protective coatings.
• Apply paints, stains, and other finishes to exterior and interior surfaces using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
• Perform work for painting and maintenance on high-rise structures.
• Inspect surfaces for defects and ensure coating systems meet specification and quality standards.
• Mix and match paint colours and materials to achieve the desired finish.
• Ensure all work is performed safely in compliance with WHS/OHS and company safety policies.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in good working condition.
• Assist in erecting and dismantling scaffolding, swing stages, or other access equipment when required.
• Report progress, issues, and material requirements to supervisors.
Skills and Competencies:
• Proficient in painting techniques, surface preparation, and coating systems.
• Strong understanding of protective coatings for facades and high-rise environments.
• Ability to work safely at heights using rope access, EWP, or swing stage equipment.
• Knowledge of Work Health and Safety (WHS) regulations and safe work practices.
• Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Cert III in painting and decorating and/ or at least 2 years of work experience.
Employment Type: Full Time
Salary: $70,000 – $80,000 per annum + Superannuation
