OWNER DRIVER

We’re a logistics company dedicated to providing time critical, complex solutions to the Australian healthcare system. Solutions are supplied to clients including some of the world’s largest healthcare providers. As a result, we pride ourselves on doing “Whatever it takes” to provide positive outcomes to patients by providing a high level of service to our customers as “One failed delivery is one too many”.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Every service Smartways provides leads to a positive outcome for patients. To enable the best service possible and ensuring we make a difference to these patient lives, we are seeking an Owner Driver in Melbourne.

Although it’s a fast paced and varied no two days are the same, a typical day will see you:

• Collect and deliver medical inventory on time and in full.
• Liaise and build relationships with customers (existing and new).
• Liaise and build relationships with other team members within Smartways.
• Proactively manage the return of loaned medical goods
• Prepare freight for transport via third parties into our wider Smartways network.
• Inspect, pick and pack customer orders with accuracy (when required)
• Hunt out opportunities to grow sales with both existing and new customers.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• Our ideal candidate will jump at every opportunity to deliver an excellent customer experience.
• You have exceptional knowledge of the Melbourne region and therefore know the most optimal route from pick-up to drop-off based on service type.
• You have excellent work ethic and understand the importance of working together as one team.
• You’re comfortable with technology and know your way around a computer/ phone
• You’ve got excellent customer service skills and treat each job with great care
• You’re available to work between the hours of 7am to 7pm Monday to Friday (adhoc weekend work).

WHAT TOOLS ARE REQUIRED?

• Own a newer model 2 Ton Van (or be prepared to purchase one)
• All insurances (Vehicle, Public Liability, Marine Cargo etc)
• A clean drivers license and criminal record
• Have the legal right to work in Australia

Pay: $30.00 – $50.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
