About the role
- The Hancock Iron Ore team is currently seeking a Officer Electrical Technical to join them on a 14/14 days and nights roster based at Port Hedland. Reporting to the Supervisor Electrical Maintenance, you will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day electrical maintenance team in technical problem solving. You will also be responsible for reliability and improvement of electrical assets at the Port fixed plant facilities, mentoring the current maintenance team through on-the-job training.
Duties
- Respond to high priority breakdowns and serve as the first point of escalation
- Configuration & troubleshooting of field devices (Protection Relays, VSD’s, Instrumentation, etc)
- Participate in technical reviews and redline drawings
- Perform quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) during shutdowns for the electrical team
- Provide technical support for non-priority breakdowns
- Assist Trainer Assessor Electrical with creating a training structure for upskilling Electrical Maintainer team members
Skills & Experience
- Experience in Electrical Maintenance and Plant Instrumentation
- Experience in the use of SCADA, PLC, HMI, and other plant control systems
- Current WA Electrical Licence and HV Switching Ticket essential
- Certificate in instrumentation is desirable
- Experience with HV and LV power systems & Field Devices
