Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Network Administrator to independently manage, support, and maintain business-critical network infrastructure across LAN, WAN, wireless, and cloud environments. This role is suited to a technically strong professional with proven, hands-on experience in complex network environments and minimal supervision.
This is not a junior or entry-level role. Applicants must demonstrate a strong background in network administration, troubleshooting, and operational support in live production environments.
Key Responsibilities
Independently install, configure, maintain, and support network infrastructure including enterprise-grade routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, servers, printers, and network appliances
Monitor, analyse, and troubleshoot complex network performance issues across LAN, WAN, VPN, and wireless environments
Perform detailed fault diagnosis, root-cause analysis, documentation, and permanent remediation of network incidents
Configure and maintain network security controls including firewall rules, VPNs, access control policies, and user authentication
Implement and support IPsec VPN tunnels, SD-WAN configurations, QoS policies, load balancing, and failover solutions
Prepare, provision, test, and deploy customer premises equipment (CPE) in accordance with internal standards
Maintain detailed and accurate network documentation, diagrams, inventory records, and change logs
Provide escalated Level 2 technical support and limited end-user guidance where required
Support Microsoft 365 and cloud-based services as they relate specifically to network operations
Participate in after-hours support and maintenance activities as required
Skills and Experience Required
Minimum 5 years’ hands-on experience in a Network Administrator or equivalent role
Demonstrated experience managing production LAN, WAN, VPN, and wireless environments
Strong, practical knowledge of routing, switching, TCP/IP, firewalls, and network security principles
Proven experience configuring and supporting routers, switches, firewalls, and network appliances
Experience with SD-WAN, IPsec VPNs, QoS, and high-availability configurations
Experience supporting Microsoft 365 and cloud-connected network services
Strong documentation, troubleshooting, and problem-resolution skills
Ability to work autonomously, manage priorities, and take ownership of network operations
Relevant IT or networking qualification (or equivalent professional experience)
Salary
$80,000 plus superannuation
