  • About the role
  • We have an opportunity for a Network Administrator to be part of our Network and Security Platform Services, Technology and Communication Services Command team. The Network Administrator is responsible for the installation, monitoring and maintenance of the organisation’s Information and Communications Technology (ICT) network including Internet Protocol/Multi Protocol Label Switching (IP/MPLS) backhaul and associated hardware and software.
  • The Network Administrator - provides technical advice and support on network matters for NSWPF projects and users. They deploy and test data, voice, Teleconference and wi-fi networks on sites. They provide operational support, trouble shoot and solve network issues to a CCNA2 level.
  • This role is part of the wider Network team servicing the telecommunications network and connectivity to all NSWPF sites 24 x 7.
  • This role is primarily focused on Networking but also includes Audio Video support, evaluation and life cycle.

Your day to day responsibilities include

  • Cisco router, switch, voice gateway, CUCM, phones,
  • Teleconference/AV devices monitoring and installation.
  • Network monitoring (we use Solarwinds or equivalent)
  • Troubleshooting and resolving network issues, inc. network hardware, firmware, software, configuration
  • Provide second level support to Field Support
  • Liaise with product resellers/vendors for equipment support.
  • Work closely with Police Properties Group and AV Integrators around our standards and Requests for Quotations
  • Assess project/user Audio Video requirements to provide fit-forpurpose solutions; develop and issue NSWPF standards-based specifications and services.
  • Provide technical advice and support on Networks and AV incl.,on-site equipment installation, configuration, testing/troubleshooting, commissioning, and documentation.
  • Provide network operational support – incident handling, network monitoring, troubleshooting, configuring and change implementation to minimize down-time and loss of productivity.
  • Implement NSWPF policies, standards, guidelines
  • Ability to maintain and provide 24 hour/7 days per week support for systems ensuring reliability and high availability.
