Our client, Noosa Auto Group (operating Noosa Hyundai among others), is a well-established dealership on the Sunshine Coast committed to exceptional customer service and technical excellence. Their Noosaville location serves the region with new, used, and demo Hyundai vehicles, along with servicing, parts, and accessory support. They pride themselves on professionalism, community engagement, and delivering top-tier automotive experiences.

The role

They are seeking an experienced Motor Mechanic to join their workshop team. You will be responsible for diagnosing, servicing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of Hyundai (and possibly related) vehicles. You will work closely with service advisors, parts staff, and other technicians in a collaborative, customer-focused environment.

Major duties include:
• Conduct inspections and diagnostics to identify mechanical, electrical, and system faults
• Perform service, maintenance, and repair work: engines, brakes, suspension, electrical systems, etc.
• Use diagnostic tools and manufacturer software to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues
• Comply with Hyundai manufacturer specifications, service standards, and industry best practices
• Maintain accurate and detailed service and repair records
• Stay current with evolving Hyundai and automotive technologies
• Communicate effectively with customers to explain repair procedures and recommendations
• Maintain a safe, tidy, and well-organised workshop
• Coordinate with service advisors, parts department, and fellow technicians to ensure efficient workflow
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development
• Mentor and support junior technicians and apprentices
• Assist with advanced diagnostics or manufacturer support tasks as required

About you

The ideal candidate will bring:
• Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology (or equivalent)
• At least three years of post-trade automotive workshop experience
• Experience diagnosing engine, electrical and system faults (preferred but not essential)
• Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage priorities
• A proactive, professional attitude, with a willingness to learn and adapt
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
• Experience with Hyundai brand or similar marques is advantageous (but not mandatory)
