Our client, Sunshine Coast Mazda, is a dedicated Mazda dealership servicing the Sunshine Coast and surrounding areas. Located in Maroochydore, they specialise in new Mazda sales, used Mazda vehicles and full-service servicing and parts support. They pride themselves on excellence in customer care, technical expertise, and providing a seamless ownership experience.
The role
Our client is seeking a Motor Mechanic with passion and skill, to join their workshop team. You will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a range of Mazda vehicles (and possibly associated models) to ensure top performance and safety in line with brand standards. You will collaborate with service advisors, parts staff, and other technicians to deliver high-quality results.
Key responsibilities include:
• Conducting inspections and diagnostics to assess mechanical, electrical, and system faults.
• Performing repairs and maintenance including engine work, brakes, suspension, and electrical systems.
• Using diagnostic tools and software to identify complex issues and propose solutions.
• Adhering to manufacturer specifications, Mazda service standards, and industry best practices.
• Maintaining accurate service and repair records.
• Keeping up to date with Mazda technologies, updates, and repair techniques.
• Communicating with customers to explain repair procedures and recommendations.
• Maintaining a safe, clean, and organized workshop environment.
• Coordinating with service advisors, parts departments, and fellow technicians for efficient workflow.
• Participating in ongoing training and skills development.
• Supporting the development of junior technicians and apprentices.
• Assisting with technical diagnostic assistance as required.
About you
We are seeking someone who offers:
• Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology (or equivalent).
• At least three years of post-trade experience (automotive workshops).
• Experience diagnosing faults in engines, electrical systems, and vehicle systems (preferred but not mandatory).
• Strong organizational, time management, and attention to detail skills.
• A collaborative, professional attitude and a willingness to learn and adapt.
• Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
• Experience with Mazda or similar brands is a plus (but not required).
