About the Position
As a Motor Mechanic at Salisbury Plain Automotive, you will play a critical role in ensuring vehicles meet safety and performance standards through expert diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance. This full-time position involves working on a diverse range of light vehicles, performing tasks from routine oil changes to complex engine installations. Key Responsibilities
Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues in light motor vehicles using advanced diagnostic equipment.
Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, tyre rotations, and tune-ups, to manufacturer standards.
Conduct thorough vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations and provide detailed reports.
Repair or replace worn components such as brakes, spark plugs, exhaust systems, and transmissions.
Adjust, repair, or replace brake systems to ensure optimal safety and performance.
Install new engines or major components as required, ensuring precision and quality.
Communicate clearly and professionally with customers about repair statuses, explaining technical details in an accessible way.
Requirements
Australian citizens and permanent residents are strongly encouraged to apply.
Diploma of Automotive Technology (or equivalent).
Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Motor Mechanic.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults, using diagnostic tools, and performing repairs on brakes, engines, and transmissions.
Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication skills to engage with customers, explain repairs clearly, and collaborate effectively with team members.
