Task & responsibilities Identify and diagnose mechanical and electrical defects in engines and its components. Able to dismantle and remove assembled engines, transmissions, steering instruments, and other parts. Inspect and assess the condition of removed parts. Identify defective parts and conduct repairs or replacements as needed. After conducting repairs, being able to reassemble mechanical parts. Understand instructions specified in service manuals while conducting repairs or replacements. Conduct scheduled maintenance services, including lubrication, engine tune-ups and oil changes. Ensure vehicles run smoothly and comply with pollution regulations through routine maintenance. After repairs have been completed, reassemble engines and components. Conduct tests and adjust accordingly parts after repairs have been completed to ensure proper performance. Use computer systems to diagnose and test vehicle parts. Inspect vehicles for roadworthiness and roadworthiness and issue certificates if applicable. Detail additional work required to achieve roadworthiness if needed. Respond to vehicle breakdown service calls as required.
