About the Position:
The Motor Mechanic role at Karratha Fluid Power is integral to maintaining and enhancing the performance of diesel/petrol-driven power packs, hydraulic power units, forklifts, and light vehicles. This position involves diagnosing complex mechanical and electrical issues, performing repairs, and conducting modifications to ensure equipment reliability in demanding industrial environments. As a key contributor to the workshop and site operations, the Motor Mechanic upholds the company’s commitment to quality workmanship and safety, supporting Karratha Fluid Power’s reputation for excellence in the hydraulic and industrial sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
Adhere to Karratha Fluid Power’s Core Values, Policies, House Rules, OSH Regulations, and Client Safety Induction Rules.
Accurately complete timesheets, site sheets, JHAs, and reports daily or upon job completion.
Perform repairs and servicing on diesel/petrol-driven power packs, hydraulic power units, forklifts, and light vehicles to the highest trade standards.
Conduct electrical and mechanical repairs, including troubleshooting and fault finding on engines, transmissions, and suspension systems.
Execute accessory fitting and mine vehicle modifications as per client specifications.
Ensure all work aligns with quoted scopes, job files, and authorised tasks before commencement.
Share knowledge and provide advice to co-workers to enhance quality workmanship and production.
Complete online and site inductions as required by clients.
Undertake additional tasks as directed by supervisors or managers to meet operational demands.
Requirements:
Australian citizens and permanent residents are strongly encouraged to apply.
Relevant trade qualifications and certificates in motor mechanics.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Motor Mechanic.
Technical skills: Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing diesel/petrol engines, hydraulic systems, transmissions, and suspension systems; experience with forklift and light vehicle servicing; and competence in accessory fitting and vehicle modifications.
Interpersonal skills: Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities; a proactive attitude towards sharing knowledge; and a commitment to maintaining high safety and quality standards.
