Our client, Ramps Ridge Services Pty Ltd, operates a large-scale farming enterprise covering approximately 3,547 hectares in the Riverina region. Alongside livestock and cropping operations, the business requires skilled workers to support its grain processing and feed production operations, ensuring high-quality outputs that are consistent with industry standards and market demand.
Nationally accredited under the National Feedlot Assurance System (NFAS) and approved for all major global markets, the business runs an integrated feed program that relies on consistent, high-quality stockfeed production.
The client is seeking reliable, hands-on Mixed Crop Production Farm Workers to support day-to-day farm operations spanning both crop and livestock activities, with additional support to on-farm grain/feed handling as required. These roles ensure safe, efficient and compliant operations across paddock work, stock care and feed logistics.
Key Responsibilities:
Crop Operations
• Patrol, inspect and report on crop condition (emergence, pests/weeds, moisture, damage).
• Operate farm machinery to cultivate, sow, fertilise, spray and harvest (tractors, seeders, sprayers, headers, augers).
• Load/unload seed grain, fertiliser and harvested produce; move product to storage/dispatch.
• Operate and maintain water supply and irrigation systems; check pumps, lines and schedules.
• Maintain field infrastructure (fences, gates, tanks, troughs) and keep paddocks, sheds and yards clean.
Livestock Operations
• Provide livestock with feed and water; implement feeding programs and monitor intakes.
• Assist with animal health and welfare tasks (monitoring, drafting, treatments under supervision).
• Muster and move stock safely between paddocks and to yards/milking/shearing sheds as directed.
• Maintain pens/yards, troughs and shade/shelter; implement biosecurity and hygiene practices.
Feed & Grain Handling Support
• Assist with receiving, storing and handling grains/by-products for stockfeed manufacture.
• Operate basic grain handling equipment (augers, conveyors) and help with batching/load-out under direction.
• Follow QA, HACCP and traceability procedures; keep accurate records (batches, inputs, inspections).
General Farm Support
• Conduct routine cleaning, housekeeping and dust/infestation control across sheds, pits and work areas.
• Perform basic maintenance (grease/lube, belt/chain tension, screen changes) and report faults promptly.
• Adhere to WHS, biosecurity and NFAS requirements at all times; contribute to a safe, tidy worksite.
Qualifications and Experience:
• AQF Certificate I (or higher) in Agriculture/Food Processing or related field preferred; OR at least 2+ years relevant on-the-job experience.
• At least one year experience across mixed farming (crops and livestock) with sound machinery operation skills.
• Practical knowledge of irrigation, crop husbandry, stock handling and feed/commodity logistics.
• Ability to follow production/feeding schedules, complete records accurately and meet QA/HACCP standards.
• Strong mechanical aptitude; able to perform basic servicing and safe equipment operation.
