Mining Engineer (excluding Petroleum)
MAKO Mining is a specialist underground mining contractor focused on safely delivering high productivity and professional results in all narrow vein mining applications. The Company has a track record of consistent safety and production, always meeting our client’s expectations.
We are currently looking for a Mining Engineer to join on a full-time basis with experience in drill and blast operations within relevant underground narrow vein mining environments. This is an exciting time at Mako Mining as we explore ways to continuously improve our underground operations.
Mako are looking for a proactive, hands-on individual who is self-motivated, determined, and can prioritise tasks. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, follow safe work practices, be a forward-thinker, and be dedicated to promoting a culture of high performance through teamwork and cooperation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Developing and maintaining drill and blast guidelines and procedures for Mako Mining’s underground operations.
• Creating and implementing drill and blast plans and procedures while reviewing stope drilling plans to ensure they meet our standards and deadlines.
• Evaluating all drill and blast activities, performing stope reconciliations, and analysing production statistics for each stope to identify opportunities for future production improvements.
• Assisting in the review of weekly and monthly schedules to ensure alignment with quarterly, annual, and Life-of-Mine (LOM) plans.
• Collaborating with the Underground Mine Manager and other Technical Services personnel to safely implement drill and blast plans while achieving targeted production goals.
• Demonstrating a safety-first culture and leadership in field activities, ensuring adherence to industry safety standards.
• Working effectively as part of a team, supporting team members, and contributing to overall outcomes.
Requirement:
• Relevant Qualification
• At least 1 year of experience in the relevant role.
• Experience using Deswik software and strong computer skills
• Drill and Blast experience
• Exposure to fast paced development and production teams
• Excellent customer service skills, able to build and maintain successful working relationships

Position: Full Time
Salary: $95,000 - $100,000
Location: Two Boys Mine Site, Higginsville, WA 6443
