About Our Client
Our client is a growth-focused copper mining company committed to exploration, development, acquisition, and operational excellence. Guided by the values of safety, responsibility, delivery, and transparency, they see a bright future for copper due to the critical role it will play in the transition to green energy.
They own and operate the Eloise Copper Mine, located near Cloncurry, QLD – an underground operation with conventional crush-grind-float processing that produces high-quality copper-gold concentrate. An expansion of the Eloise operation is now underway following the acquisition of the nearby Jericho resource. In addition, our client holds a portfolio of copper and gold exploration projects across Australia.
About the Role
Reporting to the Mine Manager, the Mining Engineer will be responsible for:
- Developing safe and effective drill and blast designs.
- Capturing and reporting daily production data.
- Assisting in the scheduling and coordination of mining activities.
- Developing and communicating weekly and 13-week mine schedules.
- Undertaking project management and project work as required.
- Supporting a positive and productive workplace culture.
- Liaising with development and production teams to deliver schedules efficiently.
- Contributing to safe and reliable mining operations.
This is a FIFO role from Brisbane. Local candidates from Cloncurry and surrounding communities can commute via bus from Cloncurry and are strongly encouraged to apply. The role is permanent and offered on an 8 days on / 6 days off roster, with accommodation provided onsite at Eloise Copper Mine (65km from Cloncurry).
About You
We are seeking candidates with the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering (or equivalent).
- Minimum of 2 years’ mining engineering experience.
- Strong practical and analytical approach to problem solving.
- Knowledge of underground metalliferous mining.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and Deswik software.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and continuous improvement.
