- Inspect parts using precision instruments (calipers, micrometers, bore/height gauges, CMM or dial indicators as applicable); document measurements and corrective actions.
- Diagnose machining issues (chatter, tool wear, thermal expansion, surface finish defects) and implement corrective measures; perform routine machine maintenance to minimise downtime.
- Maintain material and job traceability, complete QC records, and collaborate with fabricators/fitters for downstream assembly requirements.

- Proficiency in operating and programming CNC machinery (G-code and CAM software).
- Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings and specifications.
- Skilled in the use of precision measuring instruments and quality control methods.
- Understanding of cutting speeds, feeds, tooling selection, and machining tolerances.
- Knowledge of machine maintenance, troubleshooting and fault diagnosis.
- Familiarity with workplace health and safety (WHS) requirements in a manufacturing environment.
- Good problem-solving skills with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
