I have an old pixel that was showing double add 2 carts but was 2 years old I have implemented a new pixel although it is slow and im not seeing the same conversions as previously. the new one has been in for around 2 weeks. I have looked into it and I believe this could be a good option - 🛠️ Developer Brief: Dual Meta Pixel Setup for Bikini Saturdays Objective We want to: Reactivate the old Meta Pixel as the primary checkout pixel in Shopify for fast sales recovery. Keep the new Meta Pixel alive via server-side Conversions API (preferred) or GTM so it still tracks traffic, ATC, VC, and Purchases for audience building. Ensure all events (PageView, ViewContent, AddToCart, InitiateCheckout, Purchase) fire cleanly to both pixels. Use TrueROAS as our main attribution source, so data accuracy in Ads Manager is less important than clean event delivery. Step 1 – Primary Pixel Setup In Shopify Admin → Facebook & Instagram app, set the old pixel as the primary pixel. Confirm it is firing Purchase events at checkout. Step 2 – Keep New Pixel Alive Option A (Preferred): Conversions API In Meta Events Manager, generate an access token for the new pixel. Use an app or middleware (recommended: Elevar, Stape, or Littledata) to send server-side events from Shopify → new pixel. Map and send these events: PageView ViewContent AddToCart InitiateCheckout Purchase Verify via Test Events tab in Events Manager for the new pixel. Option B (Alternative): Google Tag Manager Install GTM container code on Shopify site. Implement the new pixel base code in GTM as a tag. Configure triggers for: PageView, ViewContent, AddToCart, InitiateCheckout, Purchase. Verify via Test Events tab for the new pixel. Step 3 – QA / Testing Confirm in Events Manager that: Old pixel is receiving Purchases as primary. New pixel is receiving full event stream via CAPI/GTM. Ensure no double-counting of events on checkout. Confirm that audiences (VC, ATC, Purchasers) are growing on both pixels. Step 4 – Reporting No reliance on Ads Manager attribution. TrueROAS remains the single source of truth for ROAS and scaling decisions. ⚡ Deliverable for Developer: Old pixel running as the main checkout pixel. New pixel firing full event set via CAPI (preferred) or GTM. Verification screenshots in Events Manager for both pixels after test transactions.
