Our valued client L and V Engineering based in Walkerston QLD is seeking Mechanical/Maintenance Fitter to join their team on a full time and permanent basis.

L and V Engineering performs maintenance works to local Sugar Industry and sections of the Mining Industry.

The role includes but is not limited to:
Conduct routine and preventive maintenance tasks on mechanical equipment, ensuring optimal functionality and longevity
Diagnose equipment malfunctions, perform repairs, and execute corrective maintenance to prevent operational disruptions
Carry out inspections to identify potential issues and troubleshoot problems efficiently
Collaborate with the team to implement improvement strategies for equipment reliability and performance
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs, replacements and inspections
Comply with safety standards and regulations, ensuring a safe working environment

Desirable traits and skills that will highly be regarded:
Trade qualified and have proven experience as mechanical/ maintenance fitter or similar role
Proficiency in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining mechanical equipment
Strong knowledge of troubleshooting technique and problem-solving skills
Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams
Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to maintenance tasks
Physically fit and able to work in various conditions
Ability to work well both independently and in a team environment
Strong communication skills
Self-motivated, organised, punctual and reliable
Must have great work ethics
Experience in welding (advantageous)
