Your Role

We are currently seeking for experienced Mechanical Engineering Technicians to join our busy Cotton Ginning operations located in Wee Waa, NSW. This is a full-time role.

During the season, working on a shift roster, you will be involved in all aspects of ginning operations, including monitoring production, troubleshooting and repairing mechanical issues to improve Gin productivity. You will also be doing the preventative maintenance on Gin machinery and equipment.

You will be responsible for (but not be limited to):

* Performing Gin checks with the specifications and machines settings, to make sure the cotton gin running at optimal levels.
* Diagnosing and resolving breakdowns of ginning equipment promptly to ensure downtime is minimised.
* Monitoring downtime statistics and troubleshoot problems.
* Carrying out necessary repairs and maintenance per the agreed schedule.
* Changing or fitting hydraulic hoses.
* Review parts inventory.
* Help to maintain good plant hygiene and support general maintenance activities.
* Ensure safe systems of work and adhere to the company’s safety management system.

About you

To be considered for this position, you will need to prove the following:

* Mechanical trade qualification and certificate.
* Minimum 2 years relevant work experience, ideally in cotton ginning.
* Previous maintenance and mechanical experience.
* Exposure to managing a diverse team or shift in remote or isolated environment.
* Reasonable computer skills, high levels of literacy to understand safety instructions and good communication skills to work effectively as part of a team.
* Understanding of hydraulic system.
* Knowledge of Australia’s work Health and Safety requirements is ideal.
* Fitness to be able to manage long shifts during the season.
* Great work ethic, eager to learn and able to think on your feet to troubleshoot.
* Respectful and able to interact with people from diverse cultures.
* Valid driver license.

For the right candidate, the annual salary package of $85,000 - $95,000 annually.
