Tripod Services Pty Ltd is one of Australia’s largest salad and lettuce producers with farms in Western Melbourne, Gippsland and the Sunraysia region. The business is seeking a full-time qualified Mechanical Engineering Technician at their site in Bacchus Marsh (VIC 3340).
The salary offered is $76,515 per annum plus superannuation.

Job duties and responsibilities include:
• Preparing drawings, plans, and designs for mechanical engineering work
• Assisting in designing and modifying mechanical equipment and plant used in washing, cutting, mixing, and packaging salad products
• Selecting appropriate tools and equipment for installation, repair, and servicing of farm and processing machinery
• Assembling, installing, and maintaining new and modified mechanical assemblies, hydraulic power systems, conveyors, and packing lines used in salad production
• Estimating material requirements, parts, and machine needs to support farm-based processing operations
• Conducting tests of mechanical systems, collecting and analysing performance data, and preparing reports to ensure equipment meets production demands and food safety standards
• Organising and supervising the inspection, preventative maintenance, and repair of large-scale processing and packaging machinery to minimise downtime
• Ensuring designs, modifications, and completed work comply with industry specifications, safety regulations, and Tripod’s quality standards
• Supporting engineers in continuous improvement projects to enhance plant reliability, efficiency, and productivity in a fresh-produce setting

The applicants will have the following skills and experience:
• At least a Bachelor’s degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or relevant fields OR at least 3 years relevant employment experience as a Mechanical Engineer
• Previous experience in farming or horticulture settings is highly desirable
• Excellent communication and time management skills
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
