Salary: Base annual salary is $70,000 to $80,000 plus superannuation

Job Description:

• Interpret drawings, plans and manufacturers’ manuals to carry out lifeboat annual service and repair work.
• Selecting tools, and equipment suitable to the job scope
• Service the winch braking system for lifeboats. Disassemble the main brake and centrifugal brake, replace the worn parts, and assemble the brake system back. Carry out load test on site to test the brake system.
• Carry out hook installation as per manufacturers drawings and carry out load test.
• Carry out Pressure testing / overhaul of air supply cylinders on the lifeboats.
• Organizing and supervising inspection and maintenance of lifeboat and davit
• Carry out Hydraulic testing and repairs on lifeboats.
• Estimating material costs and quantities and sourcing from local suppliers
• Collect data on vessel and liaise with equipment manufacturer for trouble shooting system failures.
• Issuing certi cates and associated documentation regarding the servicing and inspection
• Ensuring the designs and nished work adheres to OEM quality policies and procedures and to the IMO regulations.

Requirements for candidates:
1. 3 plus years experience in mechanical engineering technician work, preferably in the lifeboat sector
2. Holding current drivers licence
3. Attended or ability to pass Offshore medical and survival training such as BOSIET course
4. Evidence of past or current manufacturers certi cations if any
5. Confidence to be deployed and to attend job as a one man team, to carry out trouble shooting work after necessary trainings
6. Ability to stay on call and work irregular overtime hours as per individual job requirements
