Responsibilities:
Mechanical Engineering Technician
In charge of optimizing the performance of mechanical products, machinery, and equipment.
Repairing, maintaining and assembly of mechanical equipment and machinery according to engineering specifications and instructions. Testing and diagnosing equipment to ensure they are withing engineering specifications.
Tasks:
• Estimating material costs and quantities, and machine requirements
• Selecting tools and equipment
• Assembling and installing new and modified mechanical assemblies, components, machine tools and controls, and hydraulic power systems.
• Installing and performing diagnostic tests on mechanical systems.
• Developing and implementing mechanical maintenance plans to prevent costly equipment breakdowns.
• Troubleshooting mechanical malfunctions and breakdowns, as well as performing repairs.
• Documenting processes and maintaining mechanical service records.
• Monitoring the availability of parts and replenishing supplies.
• Optimizing mechanical efficiency by adjusting machinery and equipment settings.
• Ensuring that designs and finished work are within specifications.
• Training co-workers on the safe and efficient use of mechanical machinery and equipment
Qualifications: Suitable Certified Trade Qualification or relevant experience
Experience: At least two years’ relevant experience
Skills:
• Advanced knowledge of diesel engine components.
• Good IT and diagnostic skills.
• Proficiency with maintenance and repair tools.
• Attention to detail.
• Good interpersonal skills.
