We are a specialist contractor providing value-engineered solutions across the geotechnical sector, including bored, CFA and driven piles, diaphragm and cut-off walls, ground anchors, and microfine and jet grouting.

Who We are looking for

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineering Technician to support GFWA’s fleet of plant and equipment. This is predominantly a metro project-site based role, which requires site support maintenance, repairs, and mobilisation across large infrastructure project sites.
You will work closely with project managers, site engineers, supervisors, plant fitters, and the operations team to ensure plant is safe, compliant, reliable, and ready for deployment.

As a Mechanical Engineering Technician, you will be responsible for:

* Carrying out preventative maintenance for all GFWA plant.
* Maintain and support mechanical assemblies and components to ensure reliability and availability of plant assets.
* Apply health and safety management systems within the plant yard, including participation in JSAs, pre-start meetings, and risk assessments.
* Participate in handover and pre-planning meetings to support the mobilisation and change out of key equipment; to ensure effective execution of works.
* Plan, program, and coordinate mobilisation of plant, including transport logistics and craneage requirements.
* Assist with procurement and inventory control of plant materials and mechanical spares.
* Diagnose mechanical faults using systematic troubleshooting methods and coordinate component repair or replacement.
* Liaise with operations, commercial teams, site supervisors, and maintenance personnel to ensure alignment of plant requirements. Identify replacements and alternatives suitable for project requirements.
* Provide technical recommendations to improve plant performance, reliability, and maintenance outcomes.
* Implementation of QA, OHS & Environmental Plans.
* Maintain accurate records of plant utilisation, maintenance activities, and asset performance.
* Assist with preparation of monthly reports, including safety statistics, man-hours, and plant performance data.
* Support hazard identification processes and reporting of near-miss incidents to improve site safety outcomes.

To be successful in this role, you need to:

* At least 3 years’ experience working in a similar role
* Strong knowledge of piling and diaphragm wall plant and equipment
* Extensive knowledge in mechanical, electrical and hydraulic diagnostic fault finding and repair
* Maintain accurate service records for Plant
* Be a confident communicator, able to work with stakeholders at all levels
* Current Australian drivers license
