Goal
To ensure that the Underground and Surface fleet is maintained to Jetcrete/BCM standards, policies and procedures, achieving optimum machine availability in an incident free work environment

Role
Assist in the design, development, installation, operation, and maintenance of mechanical systems and equipment

Responsibilities and Accountabilities
• Conduct routine inspections, servicing, and mechanical repairs on mobile mining equipment including Normet, Elphinstone, agitators, Volvo loaders, and Toyota light vehicles
• Conduct diagnostic testing and fault analysis on engines, hydraulic systems, transmissions, and electrical systems using OEM diagnostic software
• Prepare and maintain detailed technical documentation, including service reports, maintenance records, and compliance logs, in accordance with engineering and regulatory standards
• Apply mechanical engineering principles to troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions, ensuring optimal performance and reliability
• Adhere to site-specific safety protocols, environmental regulations, and engineering quality standards
• Provide technical input to improve maintenance procedures and asset management strategies
• Participate in pre-start meetings, hazard identifications, and safety interactions.
• Carry out component change-outs and rebuilds as required
• Maintain cleanliness, order, and safety in the work area and on all assigned equipment
• Contribute to continuous improvement and asset reliability initiatives
Duties
• Conduct servicing and repairs of mobile plant equipment in accordance with engineering specifications and company procedures
• Monitor and manage inventory of mechanical consumables such as lubricants, filters, and spare parts to support maintenance operations
• Manage hydrocarbon waste collection and recycling processes in compliance with environmental and engineering standards
• Complete and submit technical documentation to support maintenance scheduling, data analysis, and engineering reporting
• Maintain housekeeping levels that align with site and company standards
• Assist in the implementation of engineering modifications and upgrades to improve equipment performance and reliability
• To effectively communicate with Site Supervision on plant status so they can plan operational duties on any given shift
• The direction and safety of apprentices that are on site and are to assist in, general, breakdown and preventative maintenance activities from time to time and to ensure that the duties and tasks are relevant to the experience required for the trade.
