About the Role We are seeking a Manager or Senior Manager to join our CFO Advisory team in Brisbane, with a primary focus on supporting clients with the implementation of mandatory sustainability and climate-related reporting requirements. You will deliver engagements such as carbon footprint measurement, climate risk and opportunity assessments, and the development of sustainability reports and disclosures aligned with relevant frameworks. Our team provides end-to-end sustainability reporting advisory services, ensuring clients’ frameworks are operationally integrated and assurance ready. We also deliver carbon accounting services aligned with BDO’s global methodology, developed by our specialised Australian team. In addition to sustainability advisory, you will contribute to IFRS accounting advice and support the CFO Advisory team on technical accounting aspects of broader projects. About the Team The CFO Advisory team provides specialist support in financial reporting, IFRS accounting advice, finance function advisory, and increasingly, mandatory sustainability reporting. Our client base spans both public and private sectors across a wide range of industries. Key responsibilities: Deliver sustainability reporting services, including carbon footprint measurement, climate risk assessments, scenario analysis, and preparation of sustainability disclosures Provide tailored advice on sustainability and climate-related financial reporting across sectors, aligned with evolving standards and frameworks Monitor and respond to changes in sustainability standards through research and thought leadership Deliver expert advice on IFRS, AASB, and Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards Support the CFO Advisory team with technical accounting aspects of projects Support and mentor junior team members Contribute to proposal development, training, and coaching About You CA or CPA qualified or tertiary qualification/s in a related discipline Experience in financial audit and/or demonstrable experience in ESG/sustainability assurance and advisory, including reporting frameworks Strong knowledge of IFRS and AASB standards and experience with providing accounting advice Ability to interpret complex reporting requirements and translate them into practical client solutions Highly developed interpersonal skills and positive attitude with a self-motivated approach to the role Growth mindset and interest in learning and developing in response to the rapidly evolving sustainability reporting landscape Self-motivated, outcomes-based individual Why BDO?
