This role is central to optimising our merchandise systems, ensuring they are aligned with strategic goals, resilient, and designed to meet the evolving needs of our customers. Reporting to the Group Head of Core Retail Delivery, you’ll shape the technology strategy for merchandise foundations, drive continuous improvements, and enable data-driven decision making. You’ll also play a key role in collaborating across Core Retail and Tech teams to deliver impactful business outcomes. What you’ll do Lead and optimise merchandise foundations through innovative use of technology systems. Lead and develop a team of up to 7 fostering growth and collaboration Provide strategic oversight of merchandise products, pricing, ranging, and inventory systems to support business and customer outcomes. Collaborate with cross-functional partners across Core Retail and Technology to deliver on broader priorities. Drive operational efficiency through data-driven insights and continuous improvement. Proactively monitor systems to maintain stability, reduce risk, and strengthen resilience. Support and inspire your team to thrive and grow, while contributing to an engaged and collaborative Core Retail team. What success looks like A clear merchandise foundations tech strategy and roadmap in place. Delivery of priority enhancements and continuous improvements. Key risks proactively identified and effectively managed. Strong collaboration with Tech peers and merchandise stakeholders. A high-performing, engaged team contributing to Core Retail’s success. About you You’re an experienced leader who thrives at the intersection of technology, retail, and strategy. You bring: Proven experience in merchandise or retail technology systems (pricing, product, ranging, inventory). Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to build engaged, high-performing teams. Strategic mindset with a track record of delivering tech-enabled business outcomes. Excellent stakeholder management and collaboration skills. A focus on risk management, operational stability, and continuous improvement. Why join us?
