Key Duties:

• Investigating and resolving complaints regarding breaches of local laws (e.g., parking, waste, public health, fire hazards).

• Issuing infringements, official warnings, and notices to comply.

• Preparing comprehensive briefs of evidence and attending court as required.

• Conducting routine patrols to monitor compliance and act as a visible council representative.

• Providing clear, accurate advice to the community on council laws and policies.

What You'll Bring

• Essential: Significant, proven experience working as a Local Laws Officer within a local government context.

• Strong Knowledge: Solid understanding of Council Local Laws and policies and regulatory frameworks.

• Highly Desirable: Relevant qualification such as a Certificate IV in Government (Statutory Compliance).

• Availability: Must be immediately available to commence.

• Skills: Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and report writing skills.

• Bonus: Experience or knowledge related to the Domestic Animals Act 1994 (Victoria).

• Hourly Rate: $40 - $45 per hour + Superannuation.
