  • Job Description
  • Take ownership of drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts, NDAs, terms and conditions and aviation related agreements with clients, suppliers and airlines across multiple jurisdictions
  • Provide pragmatic and commercially focused legal advice on international commercial, operational and regulatory matters
  • Manage and respond to queries via the shared Legal mailbox, ensuring timely, accurate and consistent support to global stakeholders
  • Act as a trusted adviser to senior management, clearly explaining risks and helping the business reach solutions
  • Support global governance and company secretarial matters, including routine filings and maintenance of corporate records
  • Assist with cross-border data privacy matters, including reviewing data processing agreements and supporting internal privacy compliance
  • Support and coordinate the management of disputes and litigation, including preparing concise reports for senior leadership
  • Collaborate closely with Bids, Compliance, Sales and other non-sales teams to facilitate international commercial activity
  • Contribute to the development of legal processes, guidance, templates and playbooks to improve consistency and efficiency across the department
  • Handle a diverse range of global matters independently while escalating material risks appropriately
  • Qualifications
  • Qualified lawyer in Australia or another recognised foreign jurisdiction
  • Fluency in Mandarin is mandatory
  • Minimum of 3 years’ commercial legal experience, with prior in house experience strongly preferred
  • Experience handling international commercial contracts and a broad range of legal matters
  • Experience in any of the following areas is advantageous: commercial law, corporate governance, company secretarial work, data privacy, or litigation support
  • Ability to engage confidently with senior stakeholders and provide practical, commercially aligned advice
  • Strong judgement, integrity and the confidence to operate with a high degree of independence
  • Strong contract drafting and negotiation experience, ideally including cross-border commercial agreements
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Mandarin, with the ability to draft and advise confidently in both languages
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with attorneys, sales staff, administrative teams and senior management across global offices
  • Strong attention to detail, organisation skills and the ability to deliver high quality first drafts
  • Comfortable working under pressure, managing multiple priorities and supporting teams across time zones
  • A practical and solutions driven mindset, with the ability to translate legal analysis into clear business guidance
  • Previous exposure to the bids process and experience using contract management or legal tech systems is beneficial
  • Aviation industry experience is an advantage
